Qualstar’s Q80 scalable enterprise tape library is built to be Simply Reliable™, delivering top-tier performance and scalability for all your short-term backup, disaster recovery, and long-term archiving needs. In just 6U of rack space, the Q80 supports LTO-7, LTO-8, or LTO-9 tape drives, offering up to 1.44 PB (LTO-9 native) or 3.6 PB (LTO-9 compressed) of storage capacity per unit.

The Q80’s modular design allows your system to grow with your business. By connecting up to six additional expansion modules, you can scale your storage to a massive 25.2 PB (compressed) in a single 42U rack. With this flexibility, you can expand from 80 to 560 cartridge slots and add up to 42 tape drives, all while keeping things simple and cost-effective. Even with multiple modules, the Q80 utilizes a single robot to handle all drives and media, optimizing both performance and value.

Managing the Q80 is easy. The user-friendly control panel features an intuitive GUI with setup wizards to streamline configuration and operation. Plus, the built-in browser-based remote management interface (RMI) allows IT administrators to configure, manage, and troubleshoot the library from anywhere in the world.
